Current Issues

The issues which affect health care justice can be grouped under three headings — access, cost and quality.

A person has access issues if the person has no health insurance or other resources to pay for health care — or if, despite having insurance, there are no health care providers available to provide care.

We have cost issues if the cost of physician, hospital, laboratory and pharmaceutical services, or the cost of the insurance to pay for these things,  rises faster than the income we are able to make available.

There are quality issues if  for any reason the most appropriate and most effective care is not available or not provided in a timely manner.
